Specialized Jobs for Everyone!

I love teaching my Social Studies unit on Economics. There is just so many fun things that can be done with economics. One of the fun activities that I do when I teach "specialization" is to create assembly lines and have the students create a "good". Each student is given a specific job to do and they are to work together to produce a special treat to be enjoyed by everyone in the class. This year I teamed this up with a review on our recent study of soil and had the students create edible "dirt" , as they reviewed the layers of the soil, as well as studying specializaton in economics. This was a real enjoyable lesson! Teaching is so much fun!!
